Working from my studio in Northumberland, I’m surrounded by dramatic coastlines, ancient moorlands and ever-changing skies that inspire my work. But most of my paintings aren’t about specific places – they’re about feeling. The mood of a stormy sea. The quiet of a woodland path. The joy of poppies dancing in summer fields. Using heavy texture, bold colour, and impressionistic techniques, I create landscapes that blend the representational with the abstract. Some paintings hint at recognisable scenes – a coastal horizon, sunflowers against blue sky, autumn woodlands. Others dissolve into pure colour and movement, capturing energy and emotion more than any literal view. I paint more than can be seen with the eyes alone.
