"I am an artist living in Shiremoor. I trained at Newcastle College of Art in the 70s and then started my career as a display artist for a large store in Newcastle.
After having my three children, I began a different career path and moved into business development for many years. Later, I started my own company, which allowed me more time to paint again.
I mainly work from home. My inspiration comes from my mother, who was an artist herself. She always encouraged me to pursue my love of painting.
I work mainly in acrylics, I like to create large, bold pieces that stand out and deliver 'wow factor'. My work covers a range of subjects, from paintings that illustrate the beauty and emotion of animals to fine art portraits.
My main aim is to stimulate memories of visits to places, or perhaps to emotions. My style, I guess, is realism with an illustrative slant."
