John Eric Rothwell

Eric graduated with a BA Honours in Fine Art in 2010 from Sunderland University. Although he can work in many disciplines, his work is often based on nature and Northumberland using oils and mixed media in traditional and abstract styles.

 

Eric's commissioned pieces, which include pet and family portraits, can be seen in many households, locally and further afield.

 

Eric often attends local art festivals and Christmas fairs as a stallholder. He appeared on 'Sky Landscape Artist of the Year' as a wild card artist in 2018, and also acted as an artist extra on ITV'S Vera in 2023. Eric has been employed as an Artist for an NHS Trust since 2000, providing arts and craft-based workshops for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues.

 

Eric also enjoys creative writing and illustration, digital art and guitar practice. He loves walking his dogs along the Northumbrian coast in all types of weather.
